What is a Glazier/Metal Mechanic?
A Glazier/Metal Mechanic cuts, fits and installs glass into wooden and metal frames for a variety of purposes, including glass doors, windows, mirrors, storefronts, aquariums, display cases, skylightsand glass building exteriors, technically known as curtain walls. As a Glazier and Metal Mechanic, the career not only involves what is described above, but also working with an interesting variety of glazing materials and products. These include art glass; leaded prism glass; beveled glass; protection glass; plate glass window glass; mirrors; glass chalkboards, insulating glass and all manner of plastics and other substances that can be used instead of glass.
