What is a Plasterer/Drywall Finisher?

The Union Plasterer is involved in the application of plaster and stucco to new and existing houses and buildings. They work on historical buildings doing renovation and remodeling, where a building's original plaster must be retained or replaced with the same type, quality and design. As a Plasterer, the career involves mixing the base and base coats, then applying them to cleaned surfaces such as exterior walls and ceilings, paying special attention to the details of the work.
DRY WALL FINISHER/PLASTERER:The Drywall Finisher / Plaster is a craftsperson who specializes in finishing drywall surfaces in the residential and commercial sectors of the construction industry.A Drywall Finisher will apply a fast drying compound to the joints of wallboard on the interior of buildings. Following a first coat application, the joints are finished with additional applications to form a smooth surface for paint or wall coverings. Other techniques may be applied to wallboard on walls and ceilings, depending on the requirement of the finish. Exterior applications to form many other finishing techniques may be required. The Drywall Finisher may need to apply special techniques depending on the architectural requirement.
