What is Refrigeration/Air Conditioning mechanic do?
Members of this trade are responsible for the installation and maintenance of large and small refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and piping. They work on air conditioners for the home and in apartment and office buildings and they also install / maintain refrigeration and freezer systems found in supermarkets and large industries.As a Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Mechanic, one usually installs and assembles the components of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and connects the required refrigerant pipes, ductwork, refrigerant lines and electrical power sources. They install air and water filters and electrical wiring to compressor and circulatory fans, and test lines to detect leaks and adjust controls for optimum performance. Overhauling, repairing, testing and adjusting the systems is also a major part of the work.
