What is a Tile, Terrazzo and Marble Worker?
The Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Worker (or Craftsperson) is involved in the use of ceramic, marble andother types of tile to cover interior and exterior walls, ceilings and floor as a decorative and/or protective finish. They work in the residential, commercial, and institutional/industrial sectors. As a Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Craftsperson, the career involves the layout work, cutting and installing of terrazzo, tile and marble. It involves the installation of required materials for floors, walls, ceilings, swimming pools and the cladding of buildings. One must examine project blueprints and specifications as per the contractor's requirements prior to commencement of the work, layout, measure and mark the work area. Once that is done, the Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Craftsperson assembles the proper materials and mixes the required compounds to begin the installation.
