 Boilermaker

Boilermakers build large tanks, heavy pipe-work, and pressure vessels for nuclear power plants, refineries, and chemical manufacturers. They assemble, erect and maintain boilers, tanks pressure vessels, heat exchangers, calandrias, pollution control systems, furnaces, condensers, water towers, pen-stocks and scroll casings using hoisting, rigging, welding equipment, tools and hardware as required by drawings, specifications and the applicable codes and standards.                                                            

 Bricklayer
They are qualified to lay brick, stone, concrete block, glass block, insulation and other masonry units to exact standards and time frames. They work on industrial, commercial,institutional and residential buildings. As a Bricklayer / Stone Mason you would construct, erect, install and repair structures using brick, concrete block insulation and other masonry units. Walls, arches, paving, floors, fireplaces, chimney's, and smokestacks are some of the structures one would work on. Also, part of the responsibility would be to cut and trim, to specification, all brick, concrete block and other masonry units using hand and power tools.

 Building code
A Building Code is a collection of regulations and requirements (such as exit sign and smoke detector requirements), which pertain to specific subjects (such as exiting and fire protection systems) that regulate specific practices (such as designing, constructing or remodeling buildings. All codes have the same purpose no matter what the specific subject may be: to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public and building occupants.

 Building permit
A legal document officially authorizing the holder to construct a building of a particular kind on a particular lot.
