An Elevator Constructors/Device Mechanic may inspect, install, maintain, service and repair elevating devices. These devices can include passenger elevators, freight elevators, observation elevators, dumbwaiters, escalators, moving walkways, freight platforms, stage lifts and others. knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems. Elevator Constructors must be comfortable with working at great heights, dark and confined spaces, and be knowledgable of troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques. Handling and identification of hazardous substances and materials are also required at times. They must also continually update themselves by continuously learning about new techniques/equipment.


 Electrical worker
The union Electrician works on virtually every kind of residential, industrial and commercial building. The electrician lays out, assembles, repairs, maintains, connects and tests electrical fixtures, apparatus, control equipment and wiring. As an Electrician, one would plan and install panel boards, switch boxes and other related devices. They measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other kinds of electrical conductor enclosures. They install brackets and hangers which support electrical equipment and they test the equipment and electrical systems to ensure proper and safe functionality.
