(also known as: Device Mechanic) An Elevator Constructors/Device Mechanic may inspect, install, maintain, service and repair elevating devices. These devices can include passenger elevators, freight elevators, observation elevators, dumbwaiters, escalators, moving walkways, freight platforms, stage lifts and others. knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems. Elevator Constructors must be comfortable with working at great heights, dark and confined spaces, and be knowledgable of troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques. Handling and identification of hazardous substances and materials are also required at times. They must also continually update themselves by continuously learning about new techniques/equipment. |
