"ICI" stands for: Industrial, Commercial, Institutional construction.


 Industrial construction      
Industrial construction, though a relatively small part of the entire construction industry, is a very important component. Owners of these projects. Owners of these projects are usually large, for-profit, industrial corporations. These corporations can be found in such industries as medicine, petroleum, chemical, power generation, manufacturing, etc. Processes in these industries require highly specialized expertise in planning, design, and construction. As in building and heavy/highway construction, this type of construction requires a team of individuals to ensure a successful project.


 Industrial painter
The Industrial Painter is a craftsperson who specializes in industrial surfaces. A commercial/residential (branch 1) painter/decorator’s activities include the preparation of surfaces, application of coating to surface, faux finishes and wall coverings (brush, roll and spraying applications). It also involves the application of varnishes, lacquers, sealers,stains, water & solvent borne paints, glazes and alkyds paints.


 Ironworker
Ironworkers help put up buildings, bridges and other structures. Welding and fabricating, reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams are a big part of an Ironworkers job. They also hoist and install structural steel, pre-cast concrete, reinforcing materials and other metals, during building. They position steel girders or other structural elements and bolt them into place. Ironworkers must also calculate weight for cable rigging, and set up scaffold/rigging. They are also involved in framing interior walls, concrete floors and ceilings, and assembling of pre-fabricated buildings.


 Institutional construction  


 Insulator
 (also: heat & frost insulator)
                                                                     

The Heat and Frost Insulator works on virtually every type of Industrial, Commercial and Institutional construction. They insulate piping systems, boilers, air handling units and refrigeration units, as well as insulation of the previously mentioned systems. Heat and Frost Insulators also install firestopping for both electrical and mechanical systems.
