 Painter
 (also: industrial painter)

The Industrial Painter is a craftsperson who specializes in industrial surfaces. A commercial/residential (branch 1) painter/decorator’s activities include the preparation of surfaces, application of coating to surface, faux finishes and wall coverings (brush, roll and spraying applications). It also involves the application of varnishes, lacquers, sealers,stains, water & solvent borne paints, glazes and alkyds paints.


 Plasterer
The Union Plasterer is involved in the application of plaster and stucco to new and existing houses and buildings. They work on historical buildings doing renovation and remodeling, where a building's original plaster must be retained or replaced with the same type, quality and design. As a Plasterer, the career involves mixing the base and base coats, then applying them to cleaned surfaces such as exterior walls and ceilings, paying special attention to the details of the work.


 Plumber

Many people think of a plumber in the domestic sense, only as a person who installs and fixes faucets, drains and bathroom fixtures. However, plumbing is a multi-faceted trade with applied skills, for example in hospitals, commercial buildings, manufacturing plants, houses, apartments and process piping. As a Plumber, one designs and installs above and below ground potable water systems, installs above ground sanitary storm and waste systems, pumps and water treatment systems, and, of course, installs sinks and bathroom fixtures in homes as well as process piping, gas piping, and equipment related to the above. Also related to "Steamfitters".


 Precast erector       
Concrete can be poured into moulds to create many different shapes and forms, including slabs or panels for building walls or floors. These products are called precast concrete pieces. Quite often, a Hoisting Engineer/Crane Operator will lower pieces into place. The Precast Concrete Erector guides this tradesperson, using hand signals, to align the panels and slabs into place. Precast Erectors prepare the worksite for installation, including the loading and unloading of pieces. They also involved in aligning, bolting, welding or using other mounting devices to join panels together. They must also be trained and able to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints and diagrams, and able to use had and power tools and machines, such as pneumatic wrenches.
